Sweater Club -

Sundays from 10:00am-12:00pm 2/25, 3/3, 3/10 & 3/17

This camp is a series of classes that will give you support and encouragement to knit your first or your fifteenth sweater.  Through the series of four x 2 hour classes, students will learn  different techniques to tackle knitting a sweater of their choice. Bring in any pattern idea, or show up to the first class and we can help you pick out a pattern and yarn in the shop.

This series is essential for those jumping into their first sweater,  but will also cover more advanced skills for those who are looking to dive deeper.

Projects should be worked on during non class hours to ensure completion by week 4.

*Please note: this class does not include instruction for patterns that include the brioche technique.

Week One (2/25/24) - The Beginning - This class will cover choosing your project, yarn, yardage, size (measuring for size and understanding ease), swatching and casting on. We will also dive into various cast-on methods and why you might choose one over another. This planning session will set you up for a successful project.

Week Two (3/3/24) - Sweater Construction Part 1 - Our second class will cover different sweater construction types and the skills you need to continue with your sweater project. We will talk about increasing and decreasing, fixing mistakes and general questions. This class will mostly consist of knitting time together where we can troubleshoot issues or concerns.

Week Three (3/10/24) - Sweater Construction Part 2 -  In this class we will discuss sweater modification decisions, picking up stitches for sleeves and other general skills for your sweater project. We will spend a majority of the class knitting, fixing mistakes and discussing our projects.

Week Four (3/17) -  Finishing - “Finishing” your knitting projects encompasses many different techniques. Learn how to choose the right finishing technique for your specific project. This class will cover different bind-off techniques, weaving in ends, seaming, underarm finishing and blocking.
