Dandelion’s Fiber Friends
The Dandelion Fiber Co. community is gathering to create cold weather wearables for the members of the Aliveness Project. The Aliveness Project supports people living with and at the greatest risk of HIV by providing food and nutrition services, community outreach, harm reduction, case management and support with housing, HIV testing, preventative care, support groups and more. We’re very proud to be their neighbor. This project continues the legacy of every grandma who infused their love into the hats, scarves, mittens and socks that warmed the bodies of anyone in need.
Here’s How to Contribute:
- Get your needles out and stitch! Use your own pattern or one of ours to make hats, scarves, cowls, mittens or gloves. Bring your finished creations to the shop. Donations can be made during business hours - we’ll deliver!
- Don’t have time to create something to donate? Dig through that stash of yarn we know you have and bring full or partial skeins into the shop for someone else to knit or crochet (natural fibers only please!)
- Want to look through our donated yarn stash? Email Lara - lara@dandelionfiberco.com to schedule a time
- Drop off donations anytime during shop hours.
- Aliveness network takes all kinds of donations. They especially need personal care items and purchased wool socks. The full list is available here. (scroll down to 'In-Kind giving'
