Learn to knit Grid Gambit, a modern cowl featuring an allover mosaic pattern and polished I-cord edges.

In this class, we’ll explore mosaic knitting while working the cowl flat from one corner, using increases and decreases to shape the piece. We’ll also cover the built-in I-cord edges, I-cord bind-off, blocking, and seaming techniques that give the finished cowl its clean, structured look.

This is a great project for knitters looking to build confidence with mosaic colorwork while learning techniques that can be used in other projects.  There are tons of inspirational projects on Ravelry to help you choose colors.

Skills Needed: cast on, bind off, knit, purl, increase, decrease, familiar with pattern reading.  It is a good idea to gauge swatch for this project before the first class.

Materials Needed: A copy of Grid Gambit by Samantha Guerin, yarn and needles to meet gauge on your cowl, tapestry needle
