These classic fit mittens give you a great opportunity to play with color combos and knit up quickly.  The mittens are worsted weight, knit in the round in stockinette, and come in 2 sizes and the pattern helps you easily modify to knit in children sizes.  Whether you use DPNs or Magic Loop, these mittens are a treasure in your cool weather wardrobe.  In this class we will go over the stranded colorwork to make the Robinia motif, decreasing at the top, and picking up stitches for the thumb.

Picking out worsted weight for the yarn is the best part!  Check out Magpie Fibers Nest Worsted, De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, Sandnes Garn Atlas, Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino.  I used KFO Heavy Merino for my shop sample.

Skills Needed: cast on, bind off, knit, purl, small circumference knitting, familiar with stranded colorwork knitting

Materials: A copy of the Robinia Mittens pattern by Anne Ventzel, needles and yarn to obtain gauge.  It is recommended to gauge swatch before the first night of class.
