Holiday Knitting Series - the Nomad Slippers

Date & Time: Sundays, November 10, 17, 24  9:30 - 11am

Description: These indoor cozy slippers are the perfect little bed sock or slipper you can make for yourself or a wonderful gift.  Pack these for the cabin or while traveling, or have a basket of them available to guests during the chilly winter months.  

First session: we will go over the pattern, cast on and knit the soles

2nd session: we will learn the double knit heel flap and get started on the Honeycomb Brioche stitch for the top construction.  Note: the pattern comes with links for very helpful tutorials.

3rd session: We will troubleshoot mistakes and finish one slipper construction  with i-cord and then you will be able to complete the second slipper on your own.

Skills needed: We will learn the Honeycomb Brioche stitch in class, other skills needed are small circumference knitting - DPN’s or Magic Loop, i-cord, increase, decrease, bind off.

Materials needed: sturdy DK yarn (Peer Gynt would be a great choice), tapestry needle, needles to obtain gauge - pattern calls for 3 mm circular needle, 2.5 crochet hook, copy of Nomad Slippers by Wool & Beyond pattern
